Kia ora! My name is Oli Aikawa. I am an artist, designer, and architectural graduate based in Te Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington.

My practice sits between art, architecture, and community engagement, exploring how creativity can bring people together and create meaningful experiences. I am interested in the stories, relationships, and shared moments that shape our environments, whether through public art, exhibitions, collaborative projects, or the built environment.

I am driven by curiosity and a desire to make work that is accessible, playful, and engaging. Drawing from a wide range of influences, I enjoy experimenting with different materials, processes, and forms of making, often combining digital and physical approaches. Through this process, I seek to create work that sparks conversation, encourages participation, and invites people to see familiar things in new ways.

Community is at the heart of my practice. I believe creative projects have the power to strengthen connections between people and place, and I am passionate about developing work that contributes positively to the cultural and social life of the communities I work within.

Whether creating artworks, designing spaces, or developing collaborative projects, I am motivated by the potential of creativity to inspire, connect, and enrich everyday life.
